AI is being used in different places for many years, but the common people started talking loudly about it when Open AI launched Chat GPT on 30 November 2022. Chat GPT had acquired users in millions within a few hours of launch.

Now its updated version GPT-4 has launched, let us tell you that before this four updated versions have launched which are GPT-1, GPT-2, GPT-3, and GPT-3.5. The co-Founder of Open AI claims that this GPT-4 is their “most capable model” which is “multi-modal” based. Let’s know its full story.

What is GPT-4?

GPT-4 is the upgraded version of GPT-3.5 which is based on “multimodal” which means GPT-4 can take information from multi-modals like text, images, and video, and by processing it can provide you answer in the text. This was not possible in GPT-3.5.

The founders of Open AI believe that the performance of GPT-4 is similar to the human level, not exactly human level but not less than human.

A member of Open AI shared the post on Twitter and wrote that GPT-4 has passed almost all the exams and not only passed but passed with very good marks.

In the data shared by him, GPT-4 has passed The Bar Exam at the 90 percentile, and LSAT exam at the 88 percentile, and GRE Quantitative exam at the 80 percentile, and GRE Verbal at the 99 percentile. Which is phenomenal.

However, let us tell you that the UPSC exam was conducted from the old version of Chat GPT, which is an exam to be selected in the Civil Services in India, which is considered one of the most difficult exams in the world, and does not pass Chat GPT.  Now we have to see whether GPT-4 can succeed in it or not.

Who and how can access GPT-4?

Although Chat GPT users have become so much all over the world so GPT-4 is launched only for plus members. If you are Chat GPT plus member then you can access GPT-4. If you are Chat GPT free member then you must have to plus membership to access GPT-4.

That is, it can be assumed that the company has not yet made the GPT-4 available for the public, it has been launched for testing purposes with its plus members and developers. They say that considering the traffic and demand, they will decide whether to make the GPT-4 public, when to launch and what will be their subscription model for it

Is Open AI winning the AI war?

Although big companies have been using AI for many years, in which Google is using Bard System, all these systems were not publicly available.

Open AI made it available to the public in the form of their Chat GPT, and the whole world used Chat GPT and experienced the capabilities of AI.

Big giants have invested in Open AI, even Google’s competitor, Microsoft Bing, is using Open AI’s GPT models. Microsoft has invested about $10 billion in Open AI, so in the current situation looks like open AI is leading the AI’s war but let’s see what happens next.

GPT-4 Limitations

Although GPT-4 has a lot of features there are also some drawbacks like GPT-4 does not know anything about the events after September 2021.

Although it is an upgraded version of GPT 3.5 still like Chat GPT it can also provide biased results because after all, it is AI.

Of course, it is based on the multimodal model but still, it can give output in text only you can not get output in images or videos this is also one of its limitations.
